Having even just a few missing teeth can significantly impair your ability to eat and speak normally. An entire mouth of missing, diseased, or decayed teeth creates a number of functional, aesthetic, and health issues that prevent you from enjoying life. The dental implant surgeons at Periodontal Medicine & Surgical Specialists have a way to replace entire jaws of missing teeth: full arch dental implants in Oak Brook Terrace and Glenview, IL.
Full arch dental implants give you back many of the benefits of your natural teeth and can restore your self-confidence: making it easier to laugh and smile once again. We can replace a full arch of teeth on as few as four dental implants —individual teeth usually require one implant each. This may lead to a shorter treatment time and less overall surgery.
In most cases, we provide temporary teeth in the same day that will enable you to leave our office ready to eat, smile, and speak again. With immediate dental implants, the removal of the diseased teeth and their replacement with new teeth can often be completed in a single day.
Full arch dental implants are not right for everyone and often we can save many of your natural teeth if you prefer. So, we start each case with a free, consultation. This gives us the chance to get to know you and your needs while simultaneously allowing you to ask any questions you need answered.
You’ll become knowledgeable on the process and other alternatives so that you can work with us to determine your ideal course of care.
Full arch dental implants have the potential to change your life. Given their importance, you want them to be placed by an experienced professional. Our board-certified periodontists are acclaimed dental implant surgeons with a track-record of success in placing implants. Prior to the day of your procedure, our team uses 3D technology and interdisciplinary input to help plan the process in order to achieve our goals. Once we have a plan, we can use guided implant surgery techniques to provide you with the most consistent outcomes possible. The result: a comfortable fit that looks incredible and has predictable long-term success. By using a fully digital workflow, we’re able to complete the procedure more quickly and accurately, with the majority of work being done before surgery!
Our doctors offer IV sedation to provide a more comfortable and safer atmosphere. If general anesthesia or deep sedation is required, we work with our board certified anesthesiologist partners as needed.
You’ll receive a set of temporary teeth the same day as your surgery to give you the appearance of a full set of teeth. After the bone around the posts has healed, you’ll have your final prosthesis (tooth replacement) attached and you can start enjoying the comfort and confidence that was never possible while you were missing teeth.
Certain conditions may increase your risk for receiving full arch dental implants. If there are severe infections that are causing bone loss, tooth extractions may be needed before dental implants are placed.
Additionally, in cases with significant bone loss, there may not be enough space for dental implants. In these instances, we can use bone grafting and/or sinus grafting to rebuild your jawbone for dental implants. Very rarely is it impossible to place dental implants, but we want to make sure that it is as safe and predictable as possible before we do.
