AAAHC Accreditation Is Synonymous with Quality
At Periodontal Medicine & Surgical Specialists, we’re not willing to simply follow minimum standards for surgical predictability and patient safety; we seek to elevate the specialty of Periodontology by following the most stringent and forward-looking standards in the field. We’re proud to have achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) association as an office-based surgery center. Full accreditation by the AAAHC distinguishes our surgical center from many other outpatient (ambulatory) surgical facilities by ensuring that our periodontists in Chicago, Oak Brook, and Park Ridge, IL, adhere to the highest, most up-to-date standards in modern outpatient surgery which underscores patient-safety as our primary focus.
What Is AAAHC Accreditation?
The AAAHC Certificate of Accreditation is an indication that an office-based surgical center has undergone a voluntary process by which its performance and quality are measured against nationally recognized standards. Status as a fully accredited AAAHC organization means Periodontal Medicine & Surgical Specialists has undertaken a thorough self-assessment and on-site review by the AAAHC expert surveyors and has exceeded these national standards. Only around 5,000 outpatient health care organizations across the United States are accredited by the AAAHC. Not all outpatient health care organizations seek accreditation, and not all of them that do are granted accreditation. In fact, there are few periodontal practices in the world that have achieved AAAHC accreditation status. We’re pleased to be the exception.
